Effective September 15, 2026
Shuni is an audio-first Bangla learning app operated by Oluwarotimi Lademo. It has no user accounts, advertising, or cross-app tracking.
Lesson progress, preferences, and downloaded audio are stored on your device. Lesson files and course updates are delivered by Netlify, which processes network information such as your IP address and request details to deliver files and keep the service secure. Listening to lessons does not require microphone access or permission for AI conversations.
Shuni does not request your name, contacts, precise location, or advertising identifier. If you mention personal information while speaking, it becomes part of the conversation processed below.
Before each speaking-practice or Ask Your Teacher conversation, Shuni explains this sharing and asks you to choose “Allow and start conversation” or “Not now.” No AI session request or microphone capture starts before you allow it. iOS microphone permission is a separate choice.
Shuni does not save a conversation recording or transcript in its own database or include it in the shared lesson library. Live audio and replies are held temporarily to support the conversation.
OpenAI may retain API content in abuse-monitoring logs for up to 30 days, or longer where legally required. OpenAI does not train on API inputs or outputs by default. See OpenAI's business data commitments.
ElevenLabs may retain generated replies and audio for service operation, security, and improvement under its service policies. Its retention period depends on the service and legal requirements; Shuni does not promise zero retention. Its policies permit model improvement depending on account data-use settings. See the ElevenLabs privacy policy and data-use controls.
Netlify may retain operational and security logs under its privacy policy. Shuni uses information to provide the requested features, deliver and troubleshoot the service, and prevent abuse. Shuni does not sell personal data or use it for targeted advertising.
Shuni requires service providers receiving personal data to provide the same or equal protection as described in this policy, including confidentiality, appropriate security, and protection of privacy rights. Provider processing is subject to the applicable service terms and data-protection obligations. See the data processing terms for OpenAI, ElevenLabs, and Netlify. Connections use encrypted HTTPS or secure WebSockets. Providers may process data outside your country under their stated transfer safeguards.
Choose “Not now” to decline AI sharing and keep using lessons. Consent applies to one conversation only. End or close the call to stop further microphone sharing; a new call asks again. You may also revoke microphone access in iPhone Settings. Ending a call does not delete content already processed or retained by a provider.
Delete the app to remove its local progress and downloads. For access, correction, deletion, or other privacy requests, contact olademo1@gmail.com. We will help with applicable requests, including requests involving our providers. Because Shuni has no user accounts and does not retain conversation histories, we may need the approximate session time to locate relevant provider records. Legal and security retention requirements may limit deletion.
Shuni is a general-audience language-learning app and is not directed to children under 13.
We will update this policy when Shuni's data practices change. Visit the support page for help.
